Mars’ Marketing Is On Point

In order to bring attention to their decades old candy, Skittles (which has been suffering  from dwindling sales since Mars decided to replace their beloved “lime” flavor with “green apple” in 2013, and compound this decision by pushing new, unsuccessful variations of the candy), Mars, Inc. has jumped on the Gay Pride bandwagon. Though the company has been dragged for approving and airing a number of homophobic commercials over the years, they seem to be banking on the mitigated memory of their fans in order to boost Skittles sales. White Skittles is a great idea. I applaud them for their ingenuity.
